Michael Moroney
Michael Moroney joined the NRI Board as a Director in 2008, bringing extensive business acumen and deep agricultural industry roots to the organisation.
Based in Shepparton and Yarrawonga, Victoria, Michael now focuses on property development and commercial investments through Moroney Properties Pty Ltd, with interests spanning the East Coast of Australia. His strategic approach to property and investment reflects the business insight developed over decades in the agricultural sector.
Michael’s agricultural career includes his role as Director and Business Owner of WB Hunter Pty Ltd, where he successfully operated ten branches across North East Victoria, building a significant presence in rural merchandise and agricultural services throughout the region. This hands-on experience in managing multi-site operations and serving farming communities provided him with invaluable understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing independent agricultural businesses.
With family ties to agriculture dating back to 1947, Michael’s connection to the industry runs deep. His longstanding involvement with NRI—spanning over 16 years on the Board—demonstrates his enduring commitment to supporting independent rural businesses and fostering collaboration across the agricultural supply chain. Michael’s strategic expertise and industry knowledge continue to provide valuable guidance to NRI’s mission and direction.
