Michael’s agricultural career includes his role as Director and Business Owner of WB Hunter Pty Ltd, where he successfully operated ten branches across North East Victoria, building a significant presence in rural merchandise and agricultural services throughout the region. This hands-on experience in managing multi-site operations and serving farming communities provided him with invaluable understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing independent agricultural businesses.

With family ties to agriculture dating back to 1947, Michael’s connection to the industry runs deep. His longstanding involvement with NRI—spanning over 16 years on the Board—demonstrates his enduring commitment to supporting independent rural businesses and fostering collaboration across the agricultural supply chain.
